Help Support the Library, Be a Friend !
Next Book Sale: Oct. 24-26, 2013

If you'd like to turn your love of books into a rewarding, charitable activity that supports the library then consider being a Friend! They are in need of volunteers to help sort donated books, assist customers at sales, and participate in fundraising events.

They enjoy helping the library prosper and grow through various fund-raising activities. Proceeds from events like their bi-annual book sale have resulted in many enhancements to the library such as the Peek-A-Book system in the children’s department, added titles to the audiobook, Spanish, and large print collections, and a popcorn machine that is used during movie events

Meetings : 7 p.m. on third Tuesday each month in the library's meeting room on the lower level. All are welcome!

Book Donations Accepted Year-Round
Donations accepted at the Dundee Library Only (555 Barrington Ave., East Dundee)

We welcome your clean and gently used adult and children's books, music CDs, DVDs, books on cassette or CD, and large print materials. To donate your items, simply drop them off at the account services desk. You will receive a form for tax deductions if you wish. Please do not use the book return slots for your donations.

These items are sold to the public at our two annual book sales, and the proceeds are donated to the library to supplement needs that are not covered in the library’s yearly budget. These funds have allowed the library to offer adult programs, tours for every second grade class in our district, and much more. Our next sale is April 18-20, 2013.

We appreciate your donations! If you have any questions about specific donations, please call the library at (847) 428-3661, ext. 5832 or email the Friends at friendsoffrvld@gmail.com.

Donations-What We Have Done

School VisitBus Trips to the Library : Funding for bus transportation makes it possible for every second grade class in the district to visit the library each year for a tour.  During the visit, students learn how to care for library materials and how to use the catalog.  Funds for the 2009/2010 school year were provided by the Friends.  In past years, the Friends and the Lions Club have jointly funded this program that receives rave reviews from students, parents, and teachers alike.
