IT Specialist – Account Services and IT Department

Full Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $17.80

The Fox River Valley Public Library District has an opening at our Dundee Library location for an IT Specialist.

Education requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Essential functions of the job include:

  • Troubleshoots, maintains, replaces, and configures computers, software and peripherals including phones and email systems
  • Provides desktop support for staff
  • Sets up and configures PC and Mac workstations and laptops
  • Conducts one-on-one and group technology training for staff
  • Creates material for staff training
  • Assists Account Services/IT Manager with IT related projects.

This position supports the technology infrastructure of the Library District to enable reliable, high quality services for patrons. The successful applicant will love to try out new technology and enjoy interacting with internal customers.

Account Services Clerk

Part Time
Hours: 16 hours per week

We have an opening for a part-time Account Services Clerk at our Dundee Library facility.  Primary duties include greeting patrons, providing frontline customer service to assist them with navigating the library’s self-serve environment, and maintaining patron accounts.

Job requirements include:

  • Excellent customer service skills     
  • Minimum one year experience working in a customer service position
  • Some college required - LTA or coursework in progress a plus
  • Ability to write and speak fluently in both English and Spanish strongly preferred

Our Account Services staff members work in a team environment, sharing the duties required to provide full customer service to patrons of all ages.  Successful applicants will be comfortable with the technologies necessary to help patrons navigate the library environment in person, by phone, and online.

Youth Services Clerk

Library Assistant – Purchasing and Technical Services

Would you like to be part of a small department which is the central location for all the ordering and receiving for the Library? Would you enjoy being the first to see all the new materials? Do you love order and pay great attention to detail?

The Fox River Valley Public Library District is currently seeking a full-time Assistant at our Dundee Library location.

Essential functions of this job include:

  • Receive all material orders in ILS acquisitions module, and create/pay invoices in that system
  • Search ILS and add item holdings to bibliographic records
  • Physically process materials
  • Sort and deliver incoming mail and supplies; post outgoing mail

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or two years public library experience. Experience with Polaris ILS is a plus. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel; the internet, email, and databases.

Shelver

Part time
Hours: 12 hours per week

The Fox River Valley Public Library District has an opening for a part-time Shelver for our Dundee Library location. Primary duties include shelving books and other materials, maintaining correct order and tidiness in the collections, emptying sorter bins, collecting materials from the on-site book drop, and shifting materials as required.

The anticipated work schedule will consist primarily of weeknights.
