Finance Manager – Full-time Exempt

Salary: $65,000 per year DOQ

The Fox River Valley Public Library District has an opening for a hands-on Finance Manager who is responsible for managing and maintaining all financial and accounting operations. If you’re looking for a management job with challenge and variety, we’d love to meet you.

Essential functions of this job include:

  • Manages cash investments in accordance with Library District policy.
  • Performs financial management duties, including generating financial data, compiling, and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends, and assessing the financial health of the library.
  • Responsible for preparing the annual operating and capital budget, appropriation, and levy.
  • Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing all monthly and quarterly Library District financial reports.
  • Ensure required state and federal tax filings are submitted on a timely basis.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership and management for the Finance department that mirrors the mission and culture of the Library.

Education required: Bachelor's degree with coursework in accounting, business, finance, public administration, or a closely related field and experience with complex budgets and financial management.  MBA and/or CPA preferred.

 

Custodial II and Delivery - Facilities Department (PDF)

Full Time - 40 hours per week

Monday – Thursday: 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm; Sunday: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm

Salary: $16.00 per hour


The Fox River Valley Public Library District is looking for a dependable, skilled worker to join our Facilities team and perform essential upkeep tasks throughout the library building and the Randall Oaks branch location.  In this position you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure that the building and grounds are safe, clean, and functional.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, regular rest room checks, light and routine maintenance work, and snow removal, if needed.  Additional responsibilities include delivery of materials between the main library, the Randall Oaks branch and Gilberts book drop.  We are seeking a team player who is self-motivated, has an abundance of energy, and a keen eye for detail.

The successful applicant will have:

  • the ability to stand or walk for long periods
  • knowledge of different cleaning products and tools
  • time-management and multi-tasking abilities
  • organizations skills
  • ability to work with minimal supervision

Education and Experience Requirements:  High school diploma or GED.  Prior commercial custodial work a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license and a favorable motor vehicle report.  Must pass a criminal background check.

Graphic Designer (PDF)

Hours:  40 hours per week

Salary:  $22.00 per hour

The Fox River Public Library District is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our Public Relations and Outreach Department. The successful candidate will thrive on deadlines, both recurring and special projects, consistent branding, and attention to detail. Must have a clean, professional design aesthetic and be able to communicate lots of information with clear and easy to read design.

As a Graphic Designer you’ll:

  • Provide original art and graphic design services for all departments and branch locations.
  • Produce attractive, consistent print and digital communications materials including newsletter, flyers, posters, website, social media graphics, bookmarks, brochures, banners, promotional items, and various special projects to support FRVPLD programs, resources, services and outreach efforts.
  • Determine specifications, design needs and layout requirements for design requests.
  • Maintain brand identity in all library marketing materials.
 

Educational requirement: Associate’s degree in graphic design or related are preferred. One year experience in graphic design.

Librarian – Bilingual (Spanish/English) -Adult and Teen Services (PDF)

Hours:  40 hours per week

Salary: $26.00 per hour

The Fox River Valley Public Library District is seeking a community-driven and dynamic librarian who is passionate about working with adults and teens to take library services to the next level.  FRVPLD serves an active and engaged community, is fine free and focused on equity, diversity and inclusion.  

The Adult and Teen Services Librarian is responsible for developing and managing library collections, coordinating outreach activities with community partners, and planning and presenting library programs for adult and teens.  If you are great at multitasking, embracing change, and an out-of-the-box thinker, we’d love to hear from you.

  • A resourceful thinker, creative, and familiar with library trends as it relates to adult services
  • Able to work in a changing work environment
  • Knowledgeable of emerging technologies and trends
  • Comfortable with the technologies necessary to help patrons navigate the library environment in person, by phone and online
  • Fluent in both reading and writing in Spanish

Educational requirement:  MLS from an ALA accredited school
