Devotees of DIY design—alliteration!—are taking advantage of an exciting summer project at the Randall Oaks Library. The participants have met every Wednesday, June 22nd through August 31st, to create fully functional Tetra Lamps. Constructed entirely from folded paper cardstock, the spherical lamps are approximately twelve inches in diameter, and when illuminated they cast shadows in distinctive geometric patterns that are quite striking. The attendees work at their own pace, which results in a relaxed atmosphere to listen to music and socialize. Following a basic template and using readily available material, this has proven to be a fun and hassle-free craft project.
