Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated every June 19 to commemorate the official end of slavery in the United States. 155 years later, we still see clearly that the end of slavery was not the end of racial inequality in this country. Here’s a sampling of books and movies that came out last year that we enjoyed for various reasons- they made us think, they made us cry, they were just plain fun, etc.
