Youth Services Fall Book Recommendations

Youth Services is SO THANKFUL for your book recommendations!  Stop in to the Dundee Library Youth Department to recommend your favorites with the emoji book recommendation activity at the tween corner and pick up one of the many books recommended by others!

Banned Books Week

We are coming to the end of Banned Books Week, a week dedicated to free expression.  The American Library Association, alongside a number of other organizations, promotes this campaign to spread awareness for the freedom to read and spreads attention towards banned and challenged books. 

Read to a Dog

   They convey loyalty, unconditional love, and are often referred to as “man’s best friend.”  They are far from only being cuddly pets: they contribute to a child’s reading proficiency.

Read a Great "Library" Book this Month

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! If you don’t have a library card now is the time to get one. This month new card holders with receive a special goodie bag. Current card holders can receive a special “Love my Library” window cling.

To help keep you in the mood for showing mad love to your library, here are some titles with a library theme you will definitely want to check out.

Display Your Collection In the Dundee Library Youth Department!

Calling all young collectors!  The Dundee Library Youth Department wants to see your family-friendly collection displayed in our display case this school year.  Community members are welcome to sign up with a member of our Youth Services staff to have their collection displayed for a period of two weeks.  If you have any questions about your type of collection or how to get your collection displayed, you may contact Dundee Library Youth Services.  We can’t wait to see your collections!
