There will be a vacancy on the Fox River Valley Public Library District’s Board of Trustees effective August 1. This position will be filled by way of nomination of a candidate by the board President, subject to the approval of the full board. The successful candidate must reside within the library district, be willing to finish out current term of office ending in May 2019, and be willing to run for the trustee position in the April 2019 consolidated election. Term of office for a trustee is four years. Trustees serve without compensation.
Whether you like your words on paper or screen, our summer reading challenge counts it all! Spend time every day with a book, e-book, audiobook, website, magazine, graphic novel, or newspaper and track your progress in your reading log. Weekly prizes and extra chances for special drawings will keep you on track. All finishers receive a free book and a ticket to our finisher pool party at Dolphin Cove Family Aquatic Center!
Last month, the Library Board of Trustees invited the Friends of the Library to drop by their meeting so that they could recognize them with a proclamation declaring October 15-21 Friends of the Library Week.
The Friends raise money that enables our library to provide needed resources for adult programming, class visits for all second graders in the Library District, technology equipment, and special events throughout the year.
