Board Trustee
Term Expiration:

I think the library is important to the community because:  Libraries are free and open long hours to the public.  They provide a uniquely American resource for learning, exploration and entertainment.

I was inspired to become a member of the board because:  Working to try to pass the 2016 failed referendum, I saw such dedicated, hard-working employees and friends of our library.  I have also come to learn how efficiently our library serves the many varied needs of the community.

My favorite way to use the library is:  I mostly use digital downloads of audio and ebooks, and also request music CDs from our library and its partners.

My favorite book is:   Just the most recent ones I read: "The Library Book" and "Gardens of Democracy."  I'm terrible about remembering book titles.

Interests/Hobbies:   I ride bicycles a lot -- all kinds.  I'm active with the Carpentersville Rotary Club that meets every Wednesday at 7 AM at Southern Belles.  Oh, and there's those four grandkids that my wife and I see about twice a week.

Education/Degrees:   BS Financial Management from Clemson University.  MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management

Profession:   Retired from commercial lending

Family:  Three grown children and five wonderful grandchildren
