Enter the Celebrate Diversity Art Contest by Oct. 15

Your library has a blank space on its wall, and what's missing is a work of art celebrating the diversity of our library district.

We serve 70,000 residents in the villages of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Gilberts, Sleepy Hollow, and parts of Algonquin, Barrington Hills, and Elgin. We're looking to you to share an original work of art, in any medium, that represents your vision of our diverse community.

Who can enter?

All residents aged 13 and over are invited to participate. You must live within the library district to be eligible.  A library card is not required.

How do I enter?

Send an email to with the following information: your age, city, contact information, the title of your work of art, its dimensions (in inches), and a high-resolution photo of your work of art.

One submission per person, please. Submissions will be accepted September 1 through October 15. Winner will be announced on November 8.

Is there a prize?

The winning submission will be displayed at the Dundee Library for one year, serving as a public celebration of the creativity of our diverse users. Additionally, the winning artist will receive Member Plus access to the Art Institute of Chicago ($150 value).
