The Friends of the Fox River Valley Libraries are a group of local residents who enjoy helping the library prosper and grow through volunteer and fund-raising activities. If you'd like to turn your love of books into a rewarding, charitable activity that supports the library then consider being a Friend! The Friends are in need of volunteers to help sort donated books, assist customers at sales, assemble themed book baskets, and participate in fundraising events. This work helps the library prosper and grow. The Friends have 501(c)(3) status, which allows exemption from federal income tax and eligibility to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. Please call (847) 428-3661, ext. 5832 or email for more information.
Book Sales and Donations
The Friends hold an ongoing mini-book sale at Culver's of Carpentersville. Culver's has generously set aside a table in their restaurant for the Friends to offer a frequently refreshed selection of books for children and adults. Hardbacks are $2 and paperbacks are $1.
Our supportive community annually donates thousands of items for our used book sales. To donate items, simply drop them off at the front desk at the Dundee Library (we cannot accept donations at the Randall Oaks Library). Forms for tax deductions are available upon request. We also accept audiovisual materials such as audio books, CDs, DVDs, and large print materials. Please do not use the book return slots for your donations.
