Hispanic Heritage Month Reading Challenge 2022

Now that we’ve had a bit of time to put the Summer Reading Challenge behind us, we’re ready to begin another Beanstack challenge. National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from September 15 - October 15. We challenge you to read any book written by a Hispanic author, or about or set in a Hispanic country. You may read one of our recommended books or pick out a book on your own.

The Hispanic Heritage Month Challenge will be available through the Beanstack app or website. Once you log in, you’ll be able to join the new challenge beginning September 15. Click on any activity badge within Beanstack for reading recommendations. Once you’ve finished reading your book, simply enter the title into the relevant activity badge and you’re a winner! Participants will have a choice between a copy of the book Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia or Martita, I Remember You by Sandra Cisneros. Participants ages 12 and up can collect their prize at either the Dundee or Randall Oaks Library upon completion of the Hispanic Heritage Month Reading Challenge, and both titles are while supplies last.

Our recommendations are grouped by genre, with notations in Beanstack about the Hispanic country/countries represented by each selection.
