Help! I can't find my library card number!

If you're unable to find your library card, you can take a picture of a current utility bill or current piece of mail with your address and sent it to libraryhelp@frvpld.info. We will be in touch with you with your library card number.

I don't have a library card. Can I still sign up for one?

Yes! Please visit the My Account page on our website.

Select the link in the top sentence that reads, "If you are not registered for library services, click or tap here to register now." Follow the on-screen instructions and you will be signed up for a temporary library card that will permit you access to our eContent. All temporary cards start with the prefix "PACREG"; please use PACREG plus the six digits after when accessing materials.

How can I use the library while it's closed?

FRVPLD is now offering Home Delivery Service to district residents. Click here for directions on how to request home delivery.

We are also open for Curbside Pickup at the Dundee Library (starting June 15). Click here for directions on how to use our Curbside Pickup service.

We also have a number of online resources for both eContent and research. Please check out our eLibrary page for access to eBooks and eAudiobooks through Overdrive, Axis360, and Hoopla, or check out our Research page for access to our online databases where you can learn a different language, pick up a new hobby, teach yourself how to code, or take an online course.

What about my currently checked out materials?

Library materials that were checked out before the library closed due to the shelter in place order are due on Wednesday, July 1. Items can only be returned to the drop box at the Dundee Library. Our fine-free policy will then resume:

At 14 days after the due date, materials not returned or renewed are marked as long overdue. Until those materials are returned, that person will be unable to check out anything else. At 45 days, items will be marked as lost and the patron’s account will be billed for replacement. For more details visit our Borrowing Information web page.

Please be aware that once materials are returned, they will be placed in quarantine for a grace period of seven days, so they will not appear as returned on your account until then.

The drop box at the Dundee Library has been relocated to the first median in the parking lot to make it easier for patrons to drive up and drop off their materials from their vehicle.

Can I access my holds?

Holds will be delivered to your home when you fill out a Home Delivery Request. Click here for directions on how to request home delivery.

We are also open for Curbside Pickup at the Dundee Library (starting June 15). Click here for directions on how to use our Curbside Pickup service.

Can I return materials while the library is closed?

The Return Drop Box at the Dundee Library is now open for those who really want to return their materials. The drop box at the Dundee Library has been relocated to the first median in the parking lot to make it easier for patrons to drive up and drop off their materials from their vehicle.

When will the library reopen?

The library is under Governor Pritzker's orders to remain closed until further notice. We will once again open our doors when it is deemed safe and best practice to do so. Please continue to check our website or social media for updates.
