2020 was a big year for Taylor Swift, she graced us with 2 new albums during these trying times. Moving away from her usual pop sounds she dabbled into the alternative genre and has done a magnificent job, if I do say so, and I am not just saying that because I am a huge fan. Her songs came at the time where self-reflection was being made and cozy melancholy songs were what I needed. Without further ado here are my top 10 songs from both albums.

Folklore released July 24, 2020 (Check it out on Hoopla):
1. mirrorball
2. exile (feat. Bon Iver):
My first time hearing this song I cried. You can hear the confusion and pain from both singers and it really strikes a chord in your heart.
3. my tears ricochet
4. invisible string
5. the last great american dynasty
6. cardigan, august & betty:
These 3 songs are grouped together due to the story they create. Obviously, you can listen to them separately, but I think the full effect comes
from listening to them back-to-back.
7. this is me trying
8. illicit affairs
9. Seven
10. hoax

Evermore released December 11, 2020 (Check it out on Hoopla today):
1. long story short
2. champagne problems
3. no body, no crime (feat. HAIM)
It has that vibe and energy as Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats just with a more mature sound.
4. gold rush
5. willow
6. ‘tis the damn season
7. Ivy
8. tolerate it
9. coney Island (feat The Nationals)
10. happiness
