I think the library is important to the community because:
I think the library is important to the community because: There's so many
reasons. Libraries are repositories of a community's history. They are places where
people can interact with each other, learn and grow, take classes, and expand their
minds. Libraries have staff that can help with technical questions. There's internet for
those that don't have access. And of course the books - from physical books to ebooks
to audiobooks - and newspapers and magazines and movies and video games. The
library is the cornerstone of a healthy community.
I was inspired to become a member of the board because: IThere's a great quote from Alice Walker - "activism is my rent for living on the planet." I'm passionate about books and reading, and volunteering in our community, so becoming a library trustee was a natural extension of that.
My favorite way to use the library is: I check out hard copy books, ebooks and audio books. I love the ability to put a book on hold and pick it up at the Randall Oaks branch.
My favorite book is:I have to pick one? How about a compromise with a series? I love the Outlander series, by Diana Gabaldon. I love books based on history.
Interests/Hobbies: Reading, volunteering, gardening, crocheting.
