Series Opening Books

Apart from lengthy books, which I wrote about here, extended time at home is also a great time to dive into a new series. The possibilities are endless, but here’s a selection of first books in popular series that you can get through our e-resources. If there's a hold list on one source, see if it's available with no wait on another!

Some series are complete and some are ongoing so you have more to look forward to. Even better- many of these have been developed into TV series, so there’s even more to sate your appetite when you’re done reading.

The quest for the king's freedom destroys his adviser, the brilliant Cardinal Wolsey, and leaves a power vacuum. Into this impasse steps Thomas Cromwell. Cromwell is a wholly original man, a charmer and a bully, both idealist and opportunist, astute in reading people and a demon of energy: he is also a consummate politician, hardened by his personal losses, implacable in his ambition.
