What is the referendum asking voters to approve?

The referendum asks voters to approve an increase in the tax rate for library services by 21 cents per $100 of net taxable value. This is a 40% reduction from the initial proposal that was presented to the community in May. It reduces the proposed increase from 36 cents to 21 cents, scales back improvements to the Dundee Library focusing on those that are of the highest priority, and reduces the size of the new library from 75,000 square feet to 40,000.
