Program Description

Event Details

For many people the holidays are a time of moral self-reflection. In addition to being a celebration of Christmas, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is a profound meditation that challenges us to think about duty to others, personal happiness and moral transformation. This program examines Scrooge’s change from closed-hearted miser to open-hearted philanthropist.

Presenters Jim Gould and Ted Hazelgrove taught classes in Ethics and Literature at McHenry County College, Crystal Lake, for 20 years. They have published on Scrooge, and have presented community programs for several years.
